Cosmetology
South Carolina requires that all students complete 1500 clock hours of training in a licensed cosmetology or beauty school order to apply for licensure as a Cosmetologist.
Your course will include instruction in haircutting, color, texture services, styling, nail care, makeup application, business and professional development. You will spend some time, as well, in learning about employment opportunities, job searching, building and retaining a clientele, etc.
There will be both theory and practical classes in all subjects. The clinic floor will then open to the public Tuesday through Thursday at 11am and Friday at 10am.
All students go through a Basic Training phase in order to prepare you for working on the clinic floor. You will learn how to complete the many different services that you will be performing on the clients that visit our clinic floor. During the Basic Training, you will begin working with mannequins. Some services, such as Manicures and Pedicures, are usually practiced on each other to gain proficiency. All students will be evaluated on both theory and practical work. It is our goal that you become the best that you can possibly be …. We are going to make sure that you do!
School Schedules:
I am so grateful to have had Ms. Janette Logan as my cosmetology instructor. She is incredibly personable and creates an inviting, and supportive learning environment. Whether it’s practical skills or theoretical knowledge, she takes the time to ensure each student truly understands the material. Her hands-on approach to teaching makes the practical lessons engaging and clear, and she’s always available to help clarify any doubts. Her ability to explain complex concepts in an easy-to-understand way is unmatched. I feel confident in my skills thanks to her guidance and support throughout the course!
Full Time Schedule:
Tuesday – Friday 8:30 – 4:00
7 Hours per day = 28 Hours per week
Part Time Schedule:
Tuesday – Friday 8:30 – 2:00
5 Hours per day = 20 Hours per week
All students are required to clock out for a thirty (30) minute lunch break.

Mrs. Janette was the best cosmetology instructor I had through cosmetology school! She always took the time to explain the “why” in everything. I am overly excited to see her have her very own school! She’s such an amazing instructor!
All students will be required to dress in solid Grey or Red scrubs, closed toe shoes and a Name tag. Please check with the Director during your interview to see the correct shades of grey and red for your scrubs.

There is no financial aid available at this time; however, the school is happy to work out a variety of payment plans to help make it possible for you to attend classes.

Full Time Students
$1000 Down and 13 monthly payments of $644.
Part Time Students
$1000 Down and 18 monthly payments of $465.
All payments are due upon the 15th of each calendar month.

After you have been accepted into the program and your Application and Enrollment fees have been paid, you will set your appointment to sign your final Student Enrollment Contract and paperwork. On the day you come to bring your final documents and sign the contract, you will make your down payment. The remainder would be spread out monthly, based on how long you will be in school.
Credit for Previous Training / Transfer Students
Students who meet all other admissions requirements that wish to transfer previously earned Cosmetology hours from another beauty school must have a certified transcript of their clock hours and grades earned and paid for from the previous school. The School may require you to complete testing in order to determine how many of your hours will be accepted. No school is required to accept transfer hours, but we will be glad to help you, if we can. There are many reasons for a student needing to transfer hours, and we want to help everyone succeed in meeting their goals. When testing you and determining how many hours to accept, our main purpose is to make sure we feel confident that we can have you ready to pass your state licensure examinations in order to get your license within the number of hours you have left to complete. For some people, that may mean we take 100% of your hours. For others, we may only accept 50%, because we feel you need more help to prepare for success.
When you transfer in hours from another beauty school, we will adjust tuition and fees accordingly. You would still have the same Application and Enrollment fees. If you already have your textbooks and kit, you would not have to purchase them again. We would, however, required that you bring them in to have them approved by the Director. While we won’t require you to have the same exact work kit, we will require that you have at least the minimum supplies that we require our own students to purchase. Tuition itself would be charged at the current hourly rate.

There are so many words I can say about Ms. Janette! She was a really good teacher. If you didn’t understand something, she wouldn’t stop or give up trying to help you until you knew it. She wasn’t a teacher for the money. She did it because she loved it, and she wanted us to be the best hair stylist we could become. Most of the information she gave me helped so much, and I use it in the salon still! She doesn’t teach you just to “pass state board”, she teaches you about real life in the salon. I would choose Ms. Janette’s school, if I had the chance. You will not regret it! She is the best!

Mrs. Janette Logan was my Cosmetology teacher all through my time in the LeGrand 300 hour room, and even some time after that. During those months, Mrs. Janette was very attentive and very thorough in her teaching. She took the time to make sure each individual student understood what was being asked of them and made sure to incorporate different teaching techniques if one particular student was having difficulty. Also included in this was tips and tricks that I still use to this very day with my clients.
Mrs. Janette made a very large impression on me. She truly cared about my wellbeing; not just when it came to learning the material, but outside of the classroom as well. She didn’t make it seem like work, and truly made my time at school enjoyable. I looked forward to getting up and learning each day, the way Mrs. Janette taught. It was an honor to have her as a teacher, and eventually, a friend I could’ve gone to whenever I was in need.
